Francisco Zuno owns Tremors and works the jobs. He came up through the trade here on the Peninsula — more than twenty years in the field, including a run as supervisor at RDS Plumbing before starting Tremors.
Several of the big plumbing names around here have been bought by out-of-state holding companies in the last few years. The truck still says the old name; the person deciding what your repair costs is in another state. That's not us. Before we get there
Water running? Find the valve first.
On an active leak, the minutes before a plumber arrives are the ones that decide how much drywall you lose. Work outward from the closest valve to the furthest.
- One fixture leaking — use the stop under that sink or behind that toilet. Turn it clockwise.
- Water heater — close the valve on the cold pipe going into the top.
- Anything bigger — find the main house valve where the line comes in: garage wall, crawl space, or an outside wall.
- Nothing works — the meter box near the curb has a valve, but it needs a meter key.
Worth doing on a calm afternoon: go find your main valve now and make sure it actually turns. A seized valve discovered during a flood is a bad afternoon.
